Set within St Luke's — a former Victorian villa on Viewfield Road, Aberdeen — the Gordon Highlanders Museum is one of the finest regimental museums in Scotland. Opened in 1997 following the regiment's amalgamation, it stands as the permanent guardian of the Gordon Highlanders' extraordinary story.
From the regiment's formation in 1794 through two World Wars and the campaigns of the 20th century, the museum tells the full story through an outstanding collection of uniforms, medals, weapons, art, photographs and personal accounts.
For families with a connection to the Gordon Highlanders — including those taken prisoner in the Far East — the museum is an irreplaceable place of memory and research.

The Collection
Medals & Honours
An outstanding collection of medals spanning 200 years of service — from the Napoleonic Wars to the Second World War — each one representing an act of courage by a Gordon Highlander.
Uniforms & Equipment
Historic uniforms, kilts, weapons and equipment worn and carried by Gordon Highlanders across centuries of campaigns — from the hills of Afghanistan to the jungles of Malaya and the beaches of Normandy.
Photographs & Documents
Rare historical photographs, war diaries, letters and official documents capturing life in the regiment across generations — including material from the Far East campaign and the experiences of those taken prisoner in 1942.
FEPOW Records
The museum holds records relating to Gordon Highlanders who became Far East Prisoners of War after the fall of Singapore — an invaluable resource for families researching their loved ones' wartime experiences.
Art & Regimental Silver
A significant collection of paintings, illustrations and ceremonial silver reflecting the regiment's proud history — including works depicting key moments from the Gordon Highlanders' two centuries of service.
Colours & Standards
